Co-Curricular

Committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum

Our commitment to holistic education goes beyond academics. Our co-curricular activities are not compulsory, but are designed to foster a caring and nurturing environment that empowers students to achieve their fullest potential in all aspects of life. Through a variety of enriching activities, we aim to instill values, build character, and create well-rounded individuals who are not only academically successful but also compassionate and socially responsible.

School Trips

We offer many curriculum-enhancing school trips throughout the year as well as enrichment days once a term.

Residential trips are available to our Senior students and have included Music Department tours to London as well as a Modern Foreign Language excursion to Normandy, where the children were able to immerse themselves in the French language whilst participating in some amazing outdoor pursuits.

French Exchange

Hulme Hall Grammar School has a long-established link with Collège Jules Verne, a school in La Croix Saint Ouen to the north of Paris.

Pupils in Year 9 correspond with pen friends to help improve their French and learn about life as a French teenager. In addition to writing letters pupils have used social media to contact each other, and in school, Skype has been used to further develop conversational skills.

The Arts

We celebrate the Arts with three annual events at Hulme Hall Grammar School. Our dynamic Music Department showcase their talents twice a year at a Christmas Celebration and a Spring concert, whilst the Drama department takes centre stage in the Summer Term with a theatrical production.

Previous productions have included Bugsy Malone, Treasure Island and Little Match Girl

Community Links

Our local community is important to us and we have started to build relationships with our neighbours. Our Pre-school decorated a tree for the St George’s Christmas Tree Festival and the school choir performed for local residents at a Christmas Fair in Cale Green Park.

We are delighted that Stockport Cricket Club use our sports hall during the winter months to continue their training and allow us to use their grounds during the summer months. We will continue to nurture relationships and celebrate the area in which we are privileged to be situated.

Fundraising

“Hulme Hall Grammar School stands out from other schools in my area as an outstanding contributor. If it wasn’t for people like you, Christie’s would not be here today.”

Rachel Carter, Fundraising Officer, Christie’s Against Cancer.

Hulme Hall is renowned for its charitable work. Every year an established charity is nominated and becomes the focus of fundraising activities and events organised by pupils, staff, governors and parents.

The school’s willingness to contribute to the needs of the wider community is unmatched. In a three year period almost ten thousand pounds was donated to local charities to further their good work. The staff and pupils are busy fundraising throughout the year with activites such as a sponsored silence, danceathon, after school concerts, and cake sales.

At Hulme Hall, we understand that education is not limited to textbooks and exams. Through our co-curricular offerings, we create a supportive and nurturing environment that empowers pupils to care for others, nurture their own well-being, and achieve remarkable success.
