Girls on Board

Girls on Board

At our school, we are proud to have adopted the Girls on Board approach, a pastoral programme designed to help girls understand and navigate the ups and downs of their friendships with greater confidence and empathy.

Friendship issues can be a source of real worry for young people, and Girls on Board helps by giving them the language, insight and tools to manage these situations more independently. Through guided discussions and age‑appropriate activities, girls learn about the dynamics of friendships, how to support one another and how to resolve difficulties calmly and thoughtfully.

This approach does not replace our existing safeguarding or anti‑bullying procedures,  we will always intervene where bullying is evident. Instead, Girls on Board supports the everyday friendship turbulence that many young people experience, helping reduce stress, boost wellbeing and promote a kinder, more understanding school culture.

By embedding Girls on Board into our pastoral care, we aim to create an environment where every girl feels supported, included and empowered to manage her social world with growing maturity.
