Performing Arts

There is no better place to come and experience creative expression than in the School’s 400-seat theatre. Pupils come together to produce a theatrical spectacle several times a year. Budding actors, set designers, lighting technicians and costume designers put their talents on show in a stunning venue. It is the perfect opportunity to develop self-confidence, self-discipline, and communication skills in a stimulating environment. The dedicated theatre space offers an exciting platform for pupils to see and be seen, regardless of age or acting ability.

Pupils studying GCSE Drama can experience, first hand, what it means to be a practising thespian in an authentic setting and be rewarded with results which are consistently impressive. Often pupils are so enthused that they go on to pursue a career in media, the arts and the theatre.

Hitting the right notes

All pupils study Music for the first three years. The subject is a popular option which often results in excellent GCSE grades. A music specialist provides practical approaches at the highest level. Many pupils have additional music lessons from professional specialists tutoring in specific instruments. The School Choir, Ensemble, School Band and Jazz Band frequently entertain the school in weekly assemblies and events highlighted on the school calendar.
