FUNDRAISING FOR HAITI

During the School's recent Curriculum Enrichment Day, Year 7 pupils from Hulme Hall Grammar School took part in a charity day to raise money for the people of Haiti.

The day was composed of three sessions of Art, Music and ICT.  Pupils made Haiti bracelets during the Art sessions, they produced presentations on the country of Haiti during their ICT sessions and they composed a charity song which was performed by the whole of Year 7 at the end of the day.

In order to raise money the pupils sold the fantastic bracelets they had made and took part in a 40 minute sponsored silence which all the teachers agreed was the best part of the day!

Rachael Allen (Assistant Head Teacher) said "The whole day was a tremendous successThe children threw themselves into the activities with enthusiasm and great sensitivity.  I felt proud to be part of such an exciting and rewarding day".

Year 7 pupils raised over £800 - a big thank you to Hulme Hall staff, pupils and parents for their hard work!

Hulme Hall Grammar School, Cheadle invited Senior Medical Physicist from the Central Manchester University Hospitals to talk to Year 11 students in their School Theatre.

She explained with great clarity about the Nuclear Medicine procedure including the use and workings of the Gamma Camera.

Mr Wadsworth commented that Dr Williams' lecture would have given valuable background information to the pupils studying The Nuclear Medicine Unit which forms a sizeable percentage of the current GCSE syllabus.

Dr Williams replied "It was a pleasure to visit the School and meet your pupils today, I hope they enjoyed the presentation and got something from it.
