Every year trips are arranged which can sometimes combine first time away from home experiences with the need to demonstrate interpersonal skills like teamwork and responsibility.
Sometimes the wider world beckons and trips are organised throughout the school year. Each year the children from the Junior School have the opportunity to attend a PGL Centre to take part in outdoor activities.
Often the theory learned in school can be put into good practice, particularly with skills like map reading or foreign languages. Whether it’s canoeing in France or Skiing in Switzerland; abseiling in Buxton or dressing up in Styal the effect is the same: a chance to laugh and learn.
“The extra curricular programme is good and offers effective opportunities to link with the community. The range is good at lunchtime and after school, and contributes to pupils breadth of accomplishments”

Having a Charitable Outlook
“Hulme Hall Grammar School stands out from other schools in my area as an outstanding contributor. If it wasn’t for people like you, Christie’s would not be here today.”
Rachel Carter, Fundraising Officer, Christie’s Against Cancer.
Hulme Hall is renowned for its charitable work. Every year an established charity is nominated and becomes the focus of fundraising activities and events organised by pupils, staff, governors and parents. The School’s willingness to contribute to the needs of the wider community is unmatched. In a three year period almost thirty thousand pounds has been donated to local charities to further their good causes. The staff and pupils have been really busy fundraising throughout the year with their sponsored silence, danceathon, after school concerts and cake sales.
“Their hard work and commitment to giving something back has really paid off with an outstanding amount raised.”
