Our Year 9 pupils were in charge of looking after their French pen friends and more as 49 students and 4 staff from Collège Jules Verne spent a day in school.

The day began in the theatre with two musical items performed beautifully by Mariya, Emily and Beth followed by a presentation about Hulme Hall by the y9 French class.

Well done to Sam and Beth who delivered their contributions in French!

This was followed by a team competition to build the tallest Eiffel Tower out of newspapers and sellotape and win the prize of chocolates! The judge’s decision was challenged as the winning tower collapsed after being measured but photographic evidence ensured that the decision was final.

The French students then attended two lessons before socialising during lunch and playing sport in the afternoon.

It was a day to remember for all concerned, hopefully promoting franco-anglais relations and ensuring pupils realize the importance and benefits gained by learning a foreign language!

College Jules Verne – Thank you….

Bonjour !
